The likable women featured in this collection of short stories range in ages and stages from young adulthood, child-bearing, juggling career, love and family relationships, and even saying goodbye.  Told with a Southern sensibility (with an appreciation for ice box pie, humidity induced curls, quirky mannerisms exaggerations and romance at all ages), the transitions these characters face take them from the Deep South to places that figure prominently in the story.  Each of the women in the stories face change with a mix of joy and pain.  Whether they are leaving home, returning home, or trying to find it, they are committed to vitality, truth, love, and a healthy dose of humor to help them on their way.

Emily Walls Ray writes fiction, memoir, and poetry  Her debut collection, TRACKS FROM TUSCALOOSA, contains 21 short stories about women in transition.  Emily holds an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, an MBA from Mississippi State University, and a BA from The University of Alabama.  She enjoys growing in faith and living a vibrant life with her family and friends.
